Look at us, said the violets blooming at her feet, all last winter we slept in the seeming death but at the right time God awakened us, and here we are to comfort you. ~Edward Payson Rod
"Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love – time is eternity" ~ Henry van Dyke
"I believe in the timeless power of a smile and the simple, happy wonder of creating and sharing. I love the way it makes me feel all warm and good inside, like a joyful hug."

LADIES, I PRESENT.......

my latest find--a double wedding ring, hand-stitched,  double bed quilt. If you enlarge the pic, you can see all those tiny stitches that had to be lovingly created. How anyone could give this up is beyond belief. I feel more than fortunate to have found it. I feel blessed.
I know it isn't prim or even antique, but how many times in this life will I get the opportunity to put the finishing touches on something like this?
All the edges are scalloped and the binding was sewn onto to it on one side. All I had to do was fold it over and sew on the back side. I practiced my blanket stitch here. It took a couple days but I am nothing if not obsessed with a project until it is done. And it is very warm, as I sat with it in my lap for duration of the stitching. I love it. I truly do......

Linda, your quilt is wonderful. It's a real treasure, and I think it's prim by virtue of the pattern don't you think? The quilting stitches are amazing, so much work to quilting. It's a beautiful quilt.

Susan

So beautiful; what a find! I love the double wedding ring pattern and agree that you've truly found a treasure!

Now that I've finished my first quilt top by machine, I can't imagine how exhausted I would be if I'd have done it all by hand...
