A Christmas gift from Gina--she calls it a mantle scarf. I call it a shelf scarf. And I can leave it out all winter. Thank you, Gina. It looks adorable here. I put the apple pie ornie on my everyday tree and the potpourri in a wood bowl!
If you are interested in any of my pillows/tucks, just let me know. I am busy with Valentine conversation hearts now, but I don't plan to make too many. Hearts are a challenge for me. I love to stitch but sewing anything other than a square is a challenge! I bought some more candy canes at Dollar Tree ( half off ) and hope to wrap them with homespun soon. I mailed out 12 packages today. The Post Office was swamped. I wonder where my packages will end up this time!
Our menu this week is simple. The days are so short, it's hard to find time to get in 3 meals. Today we had biscuits and sausage gravy for breakfast so we couldn't eat lunch, but we'll have an early supper. Does anyone else have this problem?
TUESDAY~ turkey stuffing casserole
WEDNESDAY~ lemon-herb panko crusted cod with spinach salad( rooster salad--spinach, red onions, mandarin oranges, cucumber, Maytag blue cheese and poppy seed dressing ) and pumpkin pie
THURSDAY~ turkey-rice soup w/ crusty bread
FRIDAY~ ham loaf, baked sweet potatoes, creamed peas
SATURDAY~ out for our anniversary dinner, probably Red Lobster
SUNDAY~ leftover ham loaf in hot meatloaf sandwiches w/mashed potatoes and gravy
Gratitude:**I am thankful for a warm sweatshirt today!**

Love all those stitchings, Linda! Lovely things Gina created for you!
Love all your pillows Linda, can't wait to see your hearts.
no challenge here but on weekends.
during the week while hubby works he leaves so early sometimes he grabs a biscuit and sausage but since he isn't home for lunch. I always do a sandwich or salad, or steamed veggies something easy for me. Although some days like today I did not eat!!
On weekends I eat way too much because I cook alot
Hugs
I am coming to see you for your anniversary Red Lobster is my favorite place to eat and I have not been in forever.
Happy Anniversary to you two
Brenda
Hi Linda, Looks like you stay busy. Cute pillows. I have got to get busy. Think I got lazy over the holidays. My poor Mr. P. does good to get one good meal a day. He don't eat a big breakfast before work, so I just snack on something for my lunch and then if we don't eat out, I cook supper. He will take leftovers for lunch at work the next day. Been slack on cooking also. Golly, I sound like such a bad wife. Gota do better since he finally went back to work today after a very long staycation. Sure was nice though. Have a great week and stay warm.

The pillows are darling, Linda! The willow tree looks like so much work and your stitches on it are so perfect! We have an old mattress to get rid of and I was so hoping for some ticking but no, it's not darn it! But at least I will get some springs out of it.
What a sweet gift from Gina! I love the blue with snowmen and snowflakes. My snowman tree is only blue ornaments.
I never did get my waxed icicles packaged up. But I saw where Walmart had tons of them left over (24 in a package) so I'm gonna be checking every couple of days and try to get them at a quarter a pack again. But right now they are 75% off so that's pretty darn good too. I love scouring after holiday sales to see what I can wax or prim up, haha!
Your menu sounds delicious, especially Saturday! Yum! Happy Anniversary!!
Rooster salad sounds so, so yummy!!! Where did you hear about that combo?
I love all your pillows (& mine from Christmas too!!) and I really love your new shelf scarf - what a great pop of color!
I never have a hard time getting in 3 meals! Though breakfast is almost always just coffee. Sometimes oatmeal or a fiber bar.
I don't have your Birthday gift ready yet! I was hoping to be able to put together something you wouldn't re gift. Lol.
I love ya....
I see someone's been busy again!!
Linda, I love the new pillows you made especially the red checked ones. I guess valentines day is the next holiday to craft for. I love hearts and they can be tricky to make.
I add red accents to just about every room in my house, makes it a little cheery. With the days being so short and me off to work so early, I don't have time to cook breakfast and the Mr. usually eats at different times throughout the day and I don't always have to cook supper. Most nights I eat by myself. Most days during the week I only eat once a day which is lunch. I tend to cook more meals on the weekends when I am off.
I just hate the clean up afterwards and I hate food smells in the house. I love the shelf scarf that Gina sent you, very pretty.
Good luck with the heart stitching.

Linda, you are such a prolific stitcher! I just can't keep up with you. Gina's shelf scarf is very nice - She does make very nice things doesn't she? Happy Anniversary - we were married in January too! ~Ann
Hi Linda,
You know I of course love your pillows and I love to display special handmade gifts from online friends in my home. So I can look and remember them and it makes me smile! Your talent is amazing! The pillows are all so sweet. I can't wait to see the converstaion hearts. I made some salt dough hearts. Now I need to go out to the store to get some paint brushes. I am still not allowed to drive myself and I hate depending on others or asking for help-it is a pride thing. But, I will get out and to the stores soon. Big hugs and your home looks great!! Great gifts from Gina too!!
hugs,
Your pillow are lovely, really like the "Olde Crows" - Happy Anniversary!
I always LOVE anything you stitch and your gift from Gina is really cute. I always love the trees when you stitch them too.
Happy Anniversary to you and hubby (I Love Red Lobster) there are no really good places to go out and eat near here so we usually end up getting McDonalds or Dairy Queen. Maybe some day soon we can go somewhere special (our anniv is in July)
Talk to you soon my friend
Hugs to you
Nancy
Your pillows are sweet, Linda.
I like Gina's shelf scarves, too.
It's so nice that she sent you one.
Linda you really have a talent for making stitchery. I love your patterns. They are appealing and the colors you use together are pleasing to the eye. Thanks for sharing. -Steph-

Love the valentine pillow. Ham loaf! Yum I haven't had ham loaf in years. My cousin, who was like a sister, used to make it. I have her recipe. Think you have just encouraged me to find it, since you are too far away for me to show up at your door. Happy new year.
I LOVE your new pillow tucks. Especially the old crow on red checked and the valentine sampler on red checked. So Beautiful. I must learn how to do this.
I bought the candy canes from Dollar tree and wrapped mine with colored twine this year for my tree. I found a brand new 6-pack of colored twine at the goodwill. It was Very time consuming, but I like the look. Something different. I did do a few with homespun too.
Have a wonderful day my friend!
Happy New Years my friend!Love the new pillows! You are so talented with needle and thread.Great menu! We as a family seem to have a hard time sitting down together for a meal.It is because everyone seems to have different schedules since they all work. I miss the family time that we used to share around the table.Hugs,Jen
Love the pillows and the real mattress ticking! Brings back memories from long ago! I understand what you mean about trying to get in 3 meals a day in the winter! When Don and I were traveling in our motorhome we started eating 2 meals a day...with a snack in between or in the evening! It's become such a habit with me I continue to eat 2 meals a day! I don't know if I ever told you Don was born and grew up in Washington, Iowa. After he and his brother were grown his parents moved to Grinnell! I think he'd been just about every where in Iowa!
Love the pillows, very inspiring.
I am finding that the hearts with the low V part between the two top bumps (did that make any sense?)are easier to sew. I am seeing more and more hearts done that way so it is either a trend or everyone is finding it easier. Also I have found that if I try not to get such a point at that V part and round it out more it is easier to get the heart shape without the top being goofed up. Sorry, I just got done sewing 23 hearts so now I am thinking I'm an expert heart sewer!
Yes, I find that if Jene eats lunch at work or I eat lunch after noon I have no desire to eat let alone cook that evening which isn't fair to the boys because they are starved by the evening!
Thanks for sharing!
Blessings to you!
Kendra

Love your pillows. And love the shelf scarf Gina sent you! Your menu this weeks sounds yummy. Deciding what to have is always half the battle! I have some turkey rice soup leftovers in the fridge. That may be our dinner tomorrow night! :) ~~Annie

Carmen and the Primcats
Another sweet batch of stitching my dear friend. Have I been on your mind lately? I sense a definite "crow-like" theme.... ;o) Seriously - you have been on mine....hoping all is well. I feel so disconnected here - pop on here and there only to see how hopelessly behind I am....Wishing you and Mike a wonderful anniversary day...hope you sneak in some treasured moments....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
