Look at us, said the violets blooming at her feet, all last winter we slept in the seeming death but at the right time God awakened us, and here we are to comfort you. ~Edward Payson Rod

MENU PLAN MONDAY

And what a nice, quiet weekend it was. We never left the house. Mike spent the weekend recording CDs  so I could download them to the computer. He's wanting some of those oldies on his Ipod. I drew patterns on 28 dish towels. We watched it snow several different times, with predictions of yet more. I think this is a lion's introduction to March....  Spring will be here soon!

This week is 'clean out the freezer' week. Ugh! Not a fan but Mike refuses to just toss things out. I worked a couple hours yesterday, moving the older items forward and the newer things to the back. It's an important thing to do when you have a full-size freezer. We never let our freezer get empty. That is too inefficient. I have a shelf for Beef, one for Chicken and Fish, one for Pork, one for fruit, pies, ice cream and one for Prepared goods like pizza and TV dinners. On the door shelves, we keep butter, sidemeat, tenderloins, hamburger and nuts. And there is a basket drawer with the frozen veggies and shredded cheese. Like the granddaughter says, " People could shop here!" So, anyway--we will be eating our older items first this week.
MONDAY ~ tonight I am making Macho Nachos--refried beans, spicy beef, black olives, salsa and cheese on homemade tortilla chips
TUESDAY ~ mac 'n cheese with Canadian bacon--several frozen( thawed out ) entrees with chopped Canadian bacon and broccoli in a casserole
WEDNESDAY ~ Pizza
THURSDAY ~
FRIDAY ~ Tuna steaks with brown rice ( with raisins, celery, onion and Mediterranean spices )
SATURDAY~ Broccoli, chicken, cheese and rice casserole
SUNDAY ~ Stuffed peppers, mashed potatoes
Well, the best I can say is that it has made me think to use these items creatively!
Hope you are all blessed with an awesome week! I am already blessed with a wonderful family and you wonderful friends!

Ugg! I had to defrost our freezer last week (doing it in the winter I can just stuff everything in the cooler and stick it outside lol!) so that was a good opportunity to inventory, use up, and clean out!

Have a good week Linda!

I remember those days when I had a full sized freezer & doing the moving from front to back...That's one thing I don't miss about it just being me with no kids to feed.
I used to do the same thing planning out the weeks menu using up the front row goods. Your menu sound great!

Blessings
